Propaganda

Propaganda is an ideas or statements to convince or influence a large of people and used in order to gain support for a political leader or party. The purpose of using propaganda is to promoting some cause. The information in propaganda is not always untrue but most of time it’s biased and only tell one’s perspective. Propaganda was part of Russians everyday life. It used by media, school and government. By studying propaganda posters from Russian Revolution, we can learn more about the harsh communist rule and the lives of the Russians. It also helps us to understand what the Russian people felt or thought towards the Soviet Union by using propaganda to control the Russian populations.

This poster uses propaganda to show parents at that time educate their children from their (the children) youth to their adulthood about communism. The child on the lower right is a pioneer and the upper guy is teen Lenin. It clarify that the pioneer believed he should live like Lenin and group up to become a communist. As you can see the posture of their standing and eyes focusing something and looking up that making us think the pioneer has his goal to achieve. In this way, we can tell that people exaggerated Lenin as somehow a hero. http://posters.nce.buttobi.net/big/0418.jpg

This poster shows that the red hand in the middle of the poster is trying to stop and punish harshly to the man whose try to steal money or get private money illegally. In the easiest way to explain this is government wanted people to know that the government is watching!!! I think during the Russia Revolution they had bad living conditions and corruptions. People don’t have enough money to offer the things they needed so they’re trying to steal money. As you can see it form the poster, there are 2 men that were grabbing the money and the bread. However government trying to stop to make that happen. I think this poster was broadcast to the peasants because this implies that people were suffering and the only way to improve their life is to believe in communism.

Lenin was in the middle of the poster and behind him was the communism symbol- the hammer and sickle that clarifies the importance of communism. As you can see Lenin’s gesture and posture, he look up as he’s a leader of the country and it also shows that he is willing to improve the life of Russians. He will bring peace by introducing communism. There would be more power to soviets, peace to the nations, lands to peasants and factories to workers. “Peace, Land, Bread.” This slogan was particularly successful because this is easy for everyone to understand and support. This poster telling people that if you achieve “Peace, Land, and Bread”, there will be no hardships.

This poster shows that the October's children of Russia Revolution are faithful to the wise legacy of Lenin. As you can see the gesture and posture of that kid on the left bottom of the poster, the kid was smiling that making us think he/she is willing to follow Lenin and see him as a hero. The background use red star with baby Lenin is it that symbolizes the importance of communism. They educate communism is the best and they should group up become a communist like Lenin. http://posters.nce.buttobi.net/big/0387.jpg

The message of this poster is t if you want to be communist, you have to enrich your knowledge and study hard. I think this posters implies that communist are well educated, and very intelligent people were working hard. As you can see there is a scene of studying in Moscow University on the top of the poster and if you study hard enough you would become people who are down at the bottom that they were walking proudly by themselves. The girl at the right side slouching over books that making us thinks that she is studying hard. This poster is emphasizes the important of studying.

This poster get people to believe that under Lenin’s rule and control the country will gain peace and he will do anything to gain peace because he is a superior ruler. I think this poster brain washing people by saying that Lenin is the best ruler to help them to find peace. This poster also tells people that if you support Lenin and also communism then there will be no more hardship. As you can see it from the poster, they draw Lenin’s face with chin that slightly goes up showing how high class he is and we should feel proud of him. They also draw Lenin’s face is in the angle that makes him somehow looks remarkable.

Propaganda is the information spread to advance a cause or to damage an opponent’s cause. It is usually biased and contains untruth. Propaganda limit the freedom of speech and people were told what to believe. Russian used propaganda everywhere like media, school, and government. Through propaganda, Russian people were no longer allows to think but they ere told what to believe. Propaganda brain washes all the Russian people. For adults, propaganda is their part of life. For children, they ere taught the views of communism and encouraged them to believed communist government. If propaganda had been use in the different way in Russia, then the Russia Revolution would definitely work out differently.
